to me
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

What a wonderful time of the year! Of course it is WONDERFUL all year because the Lord is always here with us! Join RCC Hikers on a fun filled full day of praising the Lord. We will start off meeting at the Rancho Community Church Park and Ride to carpool to the wonderful city of San Diego. There we will change it up a bit and hike the sidewalks. Yes, I said the sidewalks. This is an urban hike called the 7 Bridges of San Diego. Driving down the streets offer only so much to see but when you join us on this hike you will be sure to see some awesome sights. The flowers, architecture and the bridges are really quite awesome. We will start from Balboa Park to Park West then through Hillcrest and end up back at Balboa Park. We may want to stop at a coffee house in Hillcrest for a quick bite and tea or coffee along the way. But that is not it. After we get back to Balboa Park we will be right in the middle of December Nights. It is a free celebration of the season. The museums will be open and free from 5 pm until 7 pm and there will be booths, crafts and shows all over. A free play will be held at the end of the evening where we can sit and watch the story of Christ while sipping on hot apple cider. All in all this is and will be an amazing day and night.

You can join in the hike and the December Nights or just one. It would be nice to stay as a group but splitting up is just as fine. Just be sure to ride with the correct carpool with the same plans. Parking will be hard and we will most likely have to pay.

The hike is 6.6 miles with 485 feet of gain. This is an easy to moderate hike. Please bring at least one liter of water for the hike and another for the play afterwards. Wear good shoes and bring a light layer for the hike and a heavy layer for the night, it gets cold. Bring a pack large enough to carry everything. Some spending money is always god to have. Please contact RCC Hikers with any questions or concerns. I know this will be a blessed day and great fellowship.
