Touring Hindu Temple architecture + Vegetarian Brunch @ Chino Hills Sunday, February 24, 2019 10:00 AM

SoCal 20s & 30s Transplants

Have you ever been in what is practically your own backyard, and then suddenly you felt like you had been transported to another country?

Come visit BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir to experience hindu culture.
This is a traditional Hindu temple located in Chino Hills, California, which is in the part of San Bernardino County that borders Los Angeles County. Chino Hills is a small suburb that would not normally be viewed as a tourist destination.
But now it has one of the largest Hindu temples in North America, which was recently inaugurated on December 23, 2012.

Open for visitors, breath taking intricately carved wood, deities in traditional custom clothing, water fountain, authentic and affordable indian vegetarian food served with chai.

We will gather at 9.30 am and stay until 2 pm, or you can leave early if desired. Open cafeteria. We will make sure to attend one darshan so we can peek at the gods or just relax next to the fountains and chit chat. Try bringing sandals or easy to remove shoes as only bare foot is allowed inside the indoor temple. No cameras allowed to picture deities, and no shorts. A very calm place for those who are into meditation.

This place is 25 miles(30/40 minutes from my place-santa ana). Carpool if necessary. You can post that in comments.

I am sure you will fall in love with this place: )

Can't wait to see you all!
