GIA GemKids Interactive Class Experience (Free) Thursday, July 25, 2019 9:00 AM

San Diego Homeschoolers

Our GemKids program is an interactive classroom experience, where children grades 4 and above learn about geology, mineralogy and gemology. Followed by a tour of GIA's Museum.

Students handle minerals and gemstones, participate in two hands-on activities; as well as get to look at inclusions in the microscopes.

The program was written specifically to meet 4th grade standards, but older children enjoy it as well up through 12th grade. Younger students find the program more difficult, so we do not allow under 4th grade, younger siblings are not allowed in lab area.

The program cost is FREE with a minimum class size is 15 and our maximum class size is 40. To fully RSVP you must email [masked] with Parent name, phone and email, along with full name and grade of students. Please only RSVP if you can attend, no shows will not be included in future free guided tours/programs without a deposit. You will receive an email confirmation of your attendance.

There is a cafe is located near museum if you'd like to stay for lunch and located right across from Legoland if you'd like to make a full day of it!
